Google Cloud API Gateway introduces public preview streaming support for real-time and AI applications. The update enables Server-Sent Events, WebSockets, and gRPC without changing existing API specifications. Streaming connections remain open for up to one hour before requiring a new connection. Developers must explicitly enable the feature using the --enable-streaming command-line flag during creation.
