Hackers could hijack cloud accounts to crash power grids

Zhejiang University researchers warned that attackers could exploit roughly 1,000 GPUs to drain current and generate excess heat, destabilizing local grids and causing blackouts. The theoretical attack, dubbed Bit2Watt, can be mitigated by detecting malicious patterns and using energy buffering systems.
