A nine-year-old race condition in the Linux kernel's XFS filesystem, CVE-2026-64600, lets local attackers overwrite root-owned files and gain persistent root access. The flaw, found by Qualys using Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview, affects systems with reflink-enabled XFS on kernel v4.11 or later. Standard defenses like SELinux and kernel lockdown do not block it.
