Cisco Assigns 27-Year-Old to Rewrite 98% of Code

Cisco president Jeetu Patel assigned 27-year-old Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy to refactor the company's legacy codebase. Patel gave Krishnamurthy four weeks to prove he could rewrite 98% of Cisco's code within 24 months. The 2025 acquisition of EzDubs brought Krishnamurthy to the firm, where he now leads a two-person team tasked with this massive modernization effort.
