A zero-click exploit chain for the Pixel 9 uses the Dolby UDC decoder. Incoming audio messages in Google Messages are transcribed before user interaction, decoding audio with all available decoders including the UDC. Removing uncommon decoders from the attack surface would protect users from vulnerabilities in these codecs.
