Windows 11's Fast Startup writes gigabytes to hiberfil.sys on every shutdown, wearing SSDs unnecessarily. Disabling it via Control Panel stops the writes, while running powercfg /h off deletes the file and reclaims space. Replacing a 1TB NVMe now costs around $220.
