Columbia Breach Exposed 1.8 Million SSNs

Columbia University breached its systems in June last year exposing 1.8 million Social Security numbers. The breach affected individuals with no ties to the university. Victims received notices only if they were part of the Columbia community. The data leak included sensitive personal identifiers such as SSNs. Columbia's public alerts were limited to community members only.
