Majority of US AI datacenters to be built on drought-hit land

A Guardian analysis found that about two-thirds of 809 planned US datacenters, or 517 facilities, are in locations that have experienced drought conditions over the past year. The facilities require large amounts of water to operate, raising concerns as over 60% of the contiguous US is currently in drought.
