MIB Issues Advisory on IT Act Compliance

On November 2, 2026, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued an advisory to OTT platforms, online news publishers, and intermediaries regarding noncompliance with the Information Technology Act. The nine-point guidance mandates time-stamping visuals, masking violent content, using authentic maps of India, and disclosing AI-generated media in line with recent MeitY amendments from February 2026.
