Tiny robots smaller than a grain of salt created

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Michigan built the smallest fully programmable autonomous robots ever. Each robot measures roughly 200 by 300 by 50 micrometers, costs about one penny, and operates for months powered entirely by light. They swim, sense surroundings, and adjust movement without wires or external controls.
