Slime Dot, an R&B artist with over 100,000 monthly listeners, was revealed as an AI avatar after GQ initially published a credulous interview. Spotify does not label AI-generated music, so users created SoullessMusic.com and SlopTracker to detect it. Tracked AI artists on Spotify generate an estimated $5.7 million annually.
