EDG C++ Front End Goes Open Source

On September 30, 2026, the source code for EDG's C++ front end becomes public, with The C++ Alliance as its nonprofit home. The engine, which has powered industry C++ compilation for thirty years, will be professionally maintained and open to contributions. John Spicer leads the transition, and a Fiscal Sponsorship Committee will oversee development.
