SQLite inserts slow down significantly with random primary keys like UUID4 due to B+ Tree page splits. Pre-sorting random 20-byte values before batch insertion dramatically improves performance by enabling sequential writes. The sort uses only the first 8 bytes compared as unsigned longs.
