Menlo Ventures released a 2026 report on Sept. 16, 2026, based on a survey of 5,067 U.S. adults. It finds global consumer AI spending reached $40 billion, with 90 million Americans paying for at least one product. Daily usage hit 25% of the population, driven largely by general-purpose assistants.
