MLB bans AI strategy calls on dugout iPads

Major League Baseball issued a mid-season policy change on June 11 banning teams from using dugout iPads for generative AI apps that make in-game decisions like substitutions and pitch calling. As many as a third of teams were using tablets for these purposes. All clubs are now compliant with no penalties issued.
