ECB Seeks Merchants for Digital Euro Pilot

The European Central Bank is calling on e-commerce and mobile-commerce merchants to join a 12-month digital euro pilot. The test, scheduled for the second half of 2027, will use a beta currency to evaluate online, offline, in-store, and peer-to-peer payments ahead of a possible 2029 issuance.
