Discord Ditches Electron for Rust

Discord abandons the Electron framework to rebuild its desktop app using Rust, a move expected to reduce memory usage. CTO Stanislav Vishnevskiy states the company hopes to begin user testing soon, citing current RAM consumption of 1GB or more versus a target of 290MB.
