Europe's secret Barracuda drone shaped combat aviation

Airbus launched the classified Barracuda drone project in early 2003 with a core team of 35 people. The jet-powered, carbon-fiber aircraft first flew on April 2, 2006, after 40 months of development. Its technologies now power Europe's largest military aviation projects and pioneered manned-unmanned cooperation concepts.
