OpenAI and Anthropic are reportedly pursuing 20-30 MW data center deals in the UK, Nordics and US to add inference capacity while gigawatt projects remain under construction, per a September 18 CNBC report. The smaller sites bypass local opposition that blocked 45 US projects worth $68 billion in the second quarter of 2026.
