A malicious SIM card can execute attacker code on cellular IoT modems via the RUN AT command. University of Birmingham and Fuzzware researchers tested 26 devices, finding 9 vulnerable, including a commercial Autel EV charger. Qualcomm and Quectel are working on fixes, but no public advisories exist yet.
