DeepGreen Holdings filed a preliminary permit with FERC to build underwater data centers in Alaska and Maine. The Alaska project proposes 66 pods powered by 330 to 350 tidal turbines generating 100 megawatts, while the Maine site uses 50 turbines for 51 megawatts. FERC requires amendment regarding Indigenous tribes. Only two operational underwater data centers exist globally.
