Snowflake ends service-account passwords

Snowflake is deprecating password authentication for legacy service accounts in three phases, with Phase 3 running August to October 2026. The change follows the UNC5537 campaign that breached 165 customers using stolen credentials. SERVICE users must adopt federation, key-pair, or token authentication.
