eBay Bans Airbag Sales Over Safety Fears

eBay has banned U.S. sales of airbags and many airbag parts, following an April NHTSA report linking substandard Chinese inflators to a dozen deaths or serious injuries since 2023. The company will enforce the policy with seller audits, filtering algorithms and AI monitoring. Amazon, Meta, Temu and Alibaba already prohibit such sales.
