Anthropic pulled Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 offline days after release because the US government issued an export-control directive restricting access for foreign nationals. The model had caught bugs that GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus 4.8 missed. Anthropic disabled both models for everyone to comply.
