US Army's Operation Jailbreak lets engineers hack own systems for interoperability

The US Army's Operation Jailbreak enables engineers to access and integrate military systems by exposing software interfaces. Only engineers with access to system interfaces are allowed to participate, excluding sales and procurement staff. The initiative addresses decades-old silos in radar, drone, and command software that failed during European exercises. Army CTO Alex Miller cited monopsonies and outdated standards as root causes of the fragmentation. Results are being deployed to active US forces.
