Mexico Mandates Child Safety Rules for Tech

President Claudia Sheinbaum signed a decree requiring digital platforms to protect minors from adult content within 30 calendar days. The rules apply to sites allowing user-generated content, outlawing access to hate speech, sexual material, and violence for under-18s. While non-punitive initially, the government will pursue further legislation if companies fail to comply with these new safety measures.
