Tesla Optimus production line replaces Model S and X

Tesla converted the Fremont factory space once used for Model S and Model X into an Optimus Gen 3 humanoid robot production line. The final S and X units rolled off in early May 2026. Crews installed new modular equipment from Germany in roughly four months.
