Researchers at TU Wien and Cerabyte created a QR code measuring 1.98 square micrometers, smaller than most bacteria and visible only with an electron microscope. The code is engraved into a thin ceramic layer using focused ion beams. Ceramic materials could preserve data for centuries without degradation.
