X rebuilds Android app from scratch

X has released a completely rebuilt Android app after nearly a year of development, replacing the old version through a standard Play Store update. Product head Nikita Bier called it one of the largest engineering projects in the platform's history. The new foundation promises faster loading, smoother scrolling, and more dependable notifications, though Spaces remains unsupported and performance on older phones needs work.
