Linux 7.3 Becomes 2026 LTS Kernel
2 min read
Maintainer Greg Kroah-Hartman selects Linux 7.3 as the 2026 LTS kernel due to scheduling conflicts with Linux 7.4. The 7.4 release window closes on 2026-11-01, pushing the final version to 2026-12-20. This decision delays features like AMDGPU HDMI 2.1 and Zen 6 enablement for the annual long-term support release.
