Webb telescope gets fix for bright planets

Engineers are sending a software update called "superstripe" to the James Webb Space Telescope, letting it photograph bright planets like Mars and Saturn without blinding its sensors. The method scans planets in thin slices, handling targets 100 times brighter than before. It rolls out with Webb's next observing cycle in July.
