Blinkit's expansion into Meghalaya stalled after the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council rejected its trading licence application on June 25. The council argued the quick commerce model could disrupt over 4,000 local grocery stores in Shillong. Similar licences were previously denied to Swiggy Instamart.
