EU's AI labeling rules take effect next month

From August 2, EU AI Act rules require providers to disclose when users interact with AI systems like chatbots and agents, and to add machine-readable marks to AI-generated content. Deepfakes must be disclosed, and AI-generated text on public-interest matters requires disclosure unless human-reviewed. Standard editing tasks are exempt.
