The NBA announced Monday it will experiment with smart basketballs and wearable tech in select preseason games. The Wilson-developed balls contain Bluetooth sensors for research only, while officials use wrist wearables to communicate with the replay center. This pilot program, which was successful during the summer league, will not extend into the regular season.
