Mounting the Docker socket into an MCP server container gives a language model root-equivalent host access. A sidecar pattern with three fixed HTTP endpoints on a pre-approved container list provides real isolation. The MCP server itself has no socket access, dropped capabilities, and a read-only filesystem.
