New NGate variant hides in a trojanized NFC payment app

ESET researchers discovered a new NGate malware variant that abuses the legitimate Android app HandyPay. Attackers patched it with AI-generated malicious code to relay NFC data from victims' payment cards for ATM cash-outs and unauthorized payments. The trojanized app targets Brazil via a fake lottery site and a fake Google Play page.
