Solar eclipse photos can damage phone cameras

The Aug. 12 total solar eclipse can melt smartphone camera lenses if used to photograph it. NASA recommends ISO 12312-2 grade eclipse glasses for eye protection. Phone filters offer a workaround, but viewing with protected eyes is safest.
