Marine biologist shot dead in Philippines home

Three masked men forced their way into a house in Sibulan, Philippines, and shot marine biologist Kent Carpenter, 73, in the head, killing him instantly. The men took a laptop, cash, and a backpack before fleeing. Carpenter had warned that coral loss could collapse ocean ecosystems.
