EU orders Google to open Android to rival AI

The European Union has ordered Google to open Android to competing AI assistants and share anonymized search data with rivals. Google must begin data sharing by January 2027 and open Android features by July 2027. Google's Kent Walker warned the decision risks undermining privacy, security, and national security.
