Google Tests AI Data Center Prototype in Orbit

Google has launched a refrigerator-sized prototype satellite into space as part of research into orbiting AI data centers. This initial test deploys Tensor Processing Units, TPUs, running a Gemma AI model to answer simple queries for short durations.
