US Lends $1.9B to Restart Iowa Nuclear Plant for Google

The U.S. Department of Energy has approved a $1.9 billion loan to NextEra Energy to restart Iowa's Duane Arnold nuclear plant. Google has a 25-year agreement to buy most of the plant's 615-megawatt output to power its AI infrastructure, and is looking to build up to six data centers nearby.
