Arm Royalty Demand Hits 30% of Chip Price

During closing arguments on October 20, Arm proposed v10 royalties reaching 12.8% to 29.5% of a $220 Snapdragon chip price. This figure represents a massive increase from the 0.85% rate under the current Qualcomm license. Qualcomm counsel noted Arm's offers reach 15 times current payments, while Arm rejected a $250 million settlement offer from Qualcomm in late 2024.
