Belgian prosecutors have held a 52-year-old BelGaN researcher since 10 May on suspicion of passing gallium nitride chip secrets to China. The man, arrested at Brussels Airport, faces espionage and trade secret charges. BelGaN, bought by Chinese investors in 2022, went bankrupt in July 2024.
