ISRO Faces Private Sector Shift in Space

India's space sector is being reshaped by the Indian Space Policy 2023, which opens rocket and satellite manufacturing to private firms. Nine ISRO employee bodies wrote to chairman V Narayanan warning the agency could become a residual R&D boutique. About 400 startups have raised nearly $800 million, while ISRO flew only 5 launches against SpaceX's 170.
