Pentagon taps X-Bow for cheaper interceptor

X-Bow Systems received nearly $11 million from the Pentagon to develop a lower-cost interceptor under the Missile Defense Agency's Rapid Response Small Launcher Technology program. The new system targets a cost below $750,000 per launch, roughly one-fifth the price of a Patriot missile.
