NASA: SpaceX rocket crash made basketball court-size moon crater

A stray SpaceX Falcon 9 upper stage crashed into the moon on Aug. 5, creating a crater 60 feet wide and up to 10 feet deep, NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter confirmed. The impact near Einstein Crater was unintentional, and the rocket had launched from Cape Canaveral in Jan. 2025.
