Anthropic Wants a Global AI Pause If Everyone Else Does

Anthropic disclosed Claude wrote over 80% of code merged into its production systems. The company warned AI may soon achieve recursive self-improvement with little human involvement. Anthropic called for a verifiable international system to pause frontier AI development but said it would only pause if other labs did the same under verifiable conditions.
