China data centers surge on clean energy

China is rapidly building data centers powered by clean energy as part of a national strategy. New hubs in the East West Computing Strategy must source at least 80% of electricity from renewables. China aims for renewable generation to grow 53% by 2030, with coal and oil consumption peaking that year.
