Nscale Helped ByteDance Access Nvidia Chips

ByteDance rented computing power from British AI startup Nscale to access Nvidia chips, according to reports. The arrangement let the Chinese tech giant use Nvidia's P424 chips despite US export controls. Nscale, which raised $466m in equity and $91m in debt, has faced scrutiny over its Chinese ties and its $13bn Microsoft deal.
