Hundreds of Malicious Deepfake Apps Enter App Stores

Wired investigation reveals over 400 apps from a single Chinese organization bypassed Apple and Google reviews to distribute sexual and violent deepfakes. Apple subsequently removed 19 apps after the report, while Meta took action against more than 10,000 ad accounts linked to the network.
